New Park Features for the 2012/13 Season

My name is Marcus Cartwright. Some of you may know me already, but for those that don't, I've been working in the park for the past seven winter seasons. There has been a lot growth in the park within the past three seasons and I'm really excited for this upcoming one. I believe that we are going to bring something great to the table this year.

So you're probably asking yourself, what's new for the 2012-13 winter season?

A couple of things, first being the Green Features. What are green features? They're rail/bonk features that are made with up of 100% recycled materials. We mainly use older features that we feel are outdated or we have been lucky enough to use old snow making pipes (just over 100' of pipe), we also have had the chance to cruise through a couple junkyards in the Fraser Valley in search of something unique.

In total we have made 17 new features for the 2012-13 winter season.

You can check them out on Intsagram @grousepark #greenfeatures . As far as new features go we have a couple things to look out for. Just a tid bit of info, we make all our rail features in house at Grouse Mountain. Welder/park crew Rob Morrison has been working non stop since September  fine tuning all our features. We have about 10 brand new features to look out for. Here is a tease of whats been going down...

  • Wallride Spine
  • Wallride
  • Up down Box
  • Hubba Box
  • DFD Box

And the rest is a surprise. Remember to follow @grousepark on Twitter and Intsagram for updates from the park. Let it snow!
